Lasso overbrugt de kloof tussen populaire webservers (Apache, IIS of een andere FastCGI-compatibele server), gegevensbronnen (MySQL, FileMaker, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL en Openbase) en verschillende andere communicatiehulpmiddelen, hulpprogramma's en protocollen zoals zoals e-mail (POP en SMTP), directoryservices (LDAP en Active Directory), webservices (SOAP, XMLRPC) en het genereren van PDF's. Lasso omarmt open standaarden waardoor het gemakkelijk is om met een breed scala aan gegevensbronnen, webservers en platforms te werken. Webapplicaties die u op het ene platform ontwikkelt, kunnen naadloos op een ander worden ingezet. De partner LassoLab IDE bevat tools zoals Lasso-specifieke syntaxiskleuring, codeaanvulling, foutcontrole en foutopsporingsmogelijkheden.
